culmination of two estimating courses. In both courses we performed quantity
take-offs using plans from medium sized pre-existing commercial projects,
entered Q.T.O data into excel, and estimated costs. Scheduling 1: study of relationships between
activities, assigning predecessors, sucessors, creating logic diagrams, etc. Scheduling 2: each student was given plans for a
pre-existing commercial project. The project was broken down into
between 300-400 activities. After creation of activities we then
entered them into Primavera P6 after creating a WBS and assigned
relationships among activities, assigned material equipment and labor
resources, and entered our estimated cost for each resource per
activity. After our schedule was complete we prepared a binder approx.
1"-2" thick of different reports that we created by using filters,
changing data dates, updating the schedule from our primary baseline, etc. SENIOR PROJECT: Create Construction Business: research laws for licensing a business, obtaining
the necessary certifications, perform cost analysis on construction build out
of main office building, estimate overhead. We also created an organizational
structure for out company and assigned salaries and job duties for each
employee as well as interelationships between employees. Estimate a Project: Each student performed an estimate from a small
pre-existing commercial project by means of performing Q.T.O on plans and
entering data into excel. For this project we obtained online quotes,
researched costs online, etc. to become familiar with actual prices for
material and labor. Schedule the Project: Each student prepared between 200-300 activities
from the estimated project and entered them into Primavera P6 in addition to
the following tasks: assigning WBS to schedule, assigning relationships among
activities, assigning resources to activities and linking them to the proper
WBS element, cost loading the schedule, etc. When the schedule was complete
each student prepared a binder 3"-4" thick with different reports
from using filters, updating the schedule from the Primary Baseline, changing
bars view, etc. EMPLOYMENT HISTORY Jan 2012 �Mar 2012 Hensel Phelps Construction Company, Orlando, Florida CONSTRUCTION INTERN Completed 3-month internship with ENR-rated 18th
largest U.S. General Contractor. Assigned to $150 million Air Force Technical
Applications Center (AFTAC) design build project and spent first half of
internship as Field Engineer surveying and monitoring mass fill operations,
and supervising concrete testing as well as soil compaction and density
testing. Transferred to Quality Control Department during 2nd half of
internship and performed various field inspections to ensure compliance with
Hensel Phelps six-step Quality Control and Safety Protocols. Designed Compaction Density Tracking tool to
ensure compliance with project specifications and won Opportunity for
Improvement (OFI) monthly competition (out of 100+ potential competitors).
